I already found out the maximum period. 8 Weeks (56 days) seems the maximum period. But quiet expensive: € 966.96 for a Fiat 500 (€17.25 / day). You might consider to rent a few periods of 4 weeks, that's gives you the cheapest rate per day: € 159.57 for a VW UP (€5,70 / day).

Yes, in theory you have to drop off and pick up again. Ask on arrival if it is possible to just stay with the same car. Be sure you book all reservations with the same supplier and the same car.
